The Civically Engaged Graduate Fellows Program is a pilot program hosted by the Graduate School and the Office of Civic and Community Engagement. Selected masters and doctoral students participate in a six-session, professional development program in which they learn to integrate community-based learning and projects into teaching and research; are paired with an Engaged Faculty Fellow; and mentor undergraduate students enrolled in community-engaged learning courses. Students learn the theoretical and methodological foundations of engaged pedagogy and public scholarship.
Civically Engaged Graduate Fellows develop interdisciplinary curriculum models that incorporate public scholarship and community-based research.
